Here at Darts Farm, we pride ourselves on being one of the few farms to still have a traditional herd of Red Ruby Devon cattle that graze on the banks of the River Clyst… and you can now see them up close at corner. Pop down and say hello…You might even see them munching on grass or leftover veggies from the farm shop!
The Dorset is an ancient breed, developed from the Dorset Horn; one of the earliest recorded breeds of British Sheep that thrived in the sheltered valleys and lush hill pastures of southwestern England. The unique, native breed are beautifully suited to the mild and sheltered micro-climate here in Devon. A dual-purpose wool and meat sheep; not only are they renowned for their white, strong fleece, but also their succulent and tender meat.
