Hot Cross Bun French Toast

The most delicious way of reinvigorating your stale hot cross buns. An indulgent breakfast or desert to enjoy this Easter!

Ingredients

  • 4 Hot Cross Buns
  • 2 Black Dog Free Range Eggs
  • 100ml Local Milk
  • 2 Tbsp Caster Sugar
  • ½ Tsp Cinnamon
  • Knob of Butter

Method

  1. Halve your hot cross buns.
  2. Crack your eggs into a bowl and add your milk, caster sugar and cinnamon. Beat with a fork until you have a totally combined mixture.
  3. Pop a knob of butter in a large frying pan and heat it over a medium-high heat.
  4. Dip your hot cross buns in the egg mixture, turning so that all sides are coated.
  5. Place your hot cross buns in the frying pan a few at a time, frying for 2 mins on each side until golden.
  6. Time to plate up. Arrange your hot cross buns on a plate and top with your chosen toppings!
